Artist Statement:
My work explores concepts of duality, quantum theory and entanglement, the physical and energetic body, transmutation of forms and energy, patterns and geometry in nature, infinite possibilities of being and metaphysics, creatures and dream worlds.
The qualities these concepts have in common are their ability to embody the unseen aspects of reality, and in some cases can mirror what we think of as magic. The idea that two (or more) separate particles can affect one another across space, no matter how far apart they are, defies our notion of distance and time. These themes represent the quirkiness of our universe, and it’s in this space, speculative fabulation, I like to marry ideas to create new worlds.
In my work I seek to reveal new ways of being, to subvert the expectations of what it’s meant to be human living and interacting in this world. I create to encourage individuals to reclaim their power and restore their child-like curiosity in nature. To ignite imagination, and create new worlds and possibilities in between the stories and ideas of this one. To find new ways to think about, and move through, life. To create one’s own sense of joy and wonder.
